Traumatic separations of the distal epiphysis of the humerus, in newborn, are rare injuries. Some case reports have already been published and precise epidemiological data lack. This injury can easily be missed in the maternity, ward either by the nonspecific clinic or by the difficulty of interpreting the radiologically exams. The present report describes two infants with traumatic separation of the distal epiphysis of the humerus, in whom this diagnosis was made at birth. The diagnosis was made first with radiography and then confirmed with ultrasound. They were treated with Velpeau imobilization. Conservative management resulted in completed clinically and radiologically recovery.
