SANTOS, María Jesús Carrasco; FERNANDEZ-CAPARROS, Miguel Reinoso    GOMEZ, Jesús Molina. Development of the emotional competence for the executives of an organization through outdoor training. []. , 6, pp.190-197. ISSN 1646-2408.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the design and the evaluation of an outdoor training program for the executives belonging to an organization. The main aim of the study was to increase the levels of their emotional competence, both personal and social, since they are essential for an excellent performance at work. We have carried out an analysis of their needs based on a diagnostic interview with the Human Resources (HR) managers, and the data obtained from a questionnaire developed for this purpose. Our results show that the outdoor training is a valid initiative for the development of emotional competence, such as team and collaborative work, the establishment of communication links and of a change catalyst. Therefore, the intention of this paper is to provide the facilitators and specialized consultants, in particular, and the field of HR, in general, with a set of theoretical practical knowledge which could solve all the practical problems. We also aim to provide a useful tool for an excellent job performance of the executives, through the development of a scientific methodology for the evaluation of those competences.
