The treatment of choice for central giant cell injury is generally surgical intervention. However, recent studies have approached it with a more conservative therapeutic strategy through intralesional corticosteroid applications associated with calcitonin. Thus, the aim of this study was to report a clinical case involving a patient complaining of palatal burn.

During physical examination, swelling was observed in the central region of the hard palate. Tomographic examination revealed an osteolytic lesion invading the nasal cavity. An incisional biopsy was performed, and the diagnosis was central giant cell injury. Considering the size of the lesion and the patient’s systemic condition, a conservative treatment was chosen, and extensive regression of the lesion was observed. The obtained result suggests that conservative treatment may be considered a viable therapeutic approach for the treatment of extensive lesions.
