Abstract
FERRAZ, Pedro Dias et al. Follicular lymphoma in the posterior hard palate: A case report. Rev Port Estomatol Med Dent Cir Maxilofac [online]. 2021, vol.62, n.1, pp.63-68. Epub Mar 31, 2021. ISSN 1646-2890. https://doi.org/10.24873/j.rpemd.2021.03.827.
Follicular lymphoma is a malignant lymphoproliferative neoplasm with indolent behavior
associated with follicular center B cells. Although it is the second most common subtype of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, its manifestation in the oral cavity is rarely described. There is little documented clinical, epidemiological, and pathological information on oral follicular lymphoma. A case of follicular lymphoma diagnosed from the hard palate in a 59-year-old patient is described. The patient was transferred to the Hematology Service and underwent a treatment plan that included chemotherapy. This case report is intended to demonstrate the importance of a careful clinical history, mastery of oral pathology, multidisciplinary study by different medical specialties, and prognosis of this pathology.
