Abstract

LACOMBLEZ, Marianne. Ivar Oddone: a History of resistance. Laboreal [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.2, e21363.  Epub Dec 01, 2023. ISSN 1646-5237.  https://doi.org/10.4000/laboreal.21363.

Ivar Oddone would be 100 years old on October 26th 2023. But most people did not wait for this date to honor the legacy of this Italian doctor and work psychologist, who passed away on October 20th 2011. He is, indeed, part of the history of the vast "extended scientific community", a concept he created to set up the "way of producing know-how about work", implemented by researchers and protagonists of the workplace, aiming at neutralizing the development of diseases caused by what is, after all, a “built environment” within the organizations. Why was it obvious at the time that Ivar Oddone would commit to this journey, along with so many others, to revisit how the workers’ health was addressed, assuming options where human and social aspects were dominant?

Keywords : Ivar Oddone; extended scientific community; built environment; workers’ health; critical epistemology.
