CORREIA, Lúcia  and  FRUTUOSO, Cristina. Endometriosis and ovarian cancer - evidences and clinical implications. Acta Obstet Ginecol Port [online]. 2022, vol.16, n.4, pp.362-374.  Epub Dec 31, 2022. ISSN 1646-5830.

Although endometriosis is one of the most common benign gynecological diseases, there are several epidemiological, genetic, biological and immunological studies that associate it with some subtypes of ovarian cancer (mainly clear cell and endometrioid carcinomas). With this literature review, the authors intend to present the most recent scientific evidence and address the clinical implications of this association, namely possibility of early diagnosis, prevention and targeted therapy.

Keywords : Endometriosis; Ovarian cancer.
