Abstract

SOUSA-SANTOS, Ricardo  and  VICENTE, Luís Ferreira. What is new in Adenomyosis and Assisted Reproductive Technologies? Best Articles from the Past Year. Acta Obstet Ginecol Port [online]. 2023, vol.17, n.1, pp.14-17.  Epub Mar 31, 2023. ISSN 1646-5830.

Adenomyosis is a prevalent disease, difficult to classify, frequently present in women with infertility and undergoing Assisted Reproduction Technologies (ART) treatments. Particularly, the association between endometriosis and failure in ART is a controversial topic, supported by studies, mainly observational, of low quality. Recently, some papers that we have highlighted, and in particular a large prospective study, suggest that the potential negative effect of the disease on ART outcomes may have been overestimated.
