Abstract

BARROS, Tânia; MOREIRA, Cristiana; VILACA, Jaime  and  FERREIRA, Hélder. Diaphragmatic endometriosis minimally invasive treatment: case reports. Acta Obstet Ginecol Port [online]. 2023, vol.17, n.4, pp.313-318.  Epub Dec 31, 2023. ISSN 1646-5830.

Diaphragmatic endometriosis (DE) is an underdiagnosed disease affecting between 0.1% and 1.5% of fertile women. Most patients are asymptomatic, however, those who are symptomatic may present a wide variety of symptoms. In the presence of symptomatic DE, surgical treatment is an option. With improved diagnostic criteria and greater clinical suspicion, the prevalence of the disease will increase. We present two cases of laparoscopic treatment of symptomatic full-thickness DE. This report aims to describe our experience and contribute to a better understanding and management of the disease.

Keywords : Diaphragmatic endometriosis; Laparoscopic surgery; Diaphragm; Endometriosis.
