Abstract

FERNANDES, Ana Sofia  and  MARTINHO, Margarida. O que há de novo em anomalias Müllerianas? Os melhores artigos do último ano. Acta Obstet Ginecol Port [online]. 2024, vol.18, n.1, pp.10-13.  Epub Mar 31, 2024. ISSN 1646-5830.

Müllerian anomalies have a low prevalence in the general population, but a marked impact on reproductive outcomes. The uterine septum is the most common malformation, however, there remains a lack of consensus from international medical societies regarding diagnostic criteria and clinical guidance. Although less common, vaginal agenesis significantly interferes with female identity. Regardless of the neovaginoplasty technique chosen, it is essential to try to normalize sexual function.

Keywords : Müllerian anomaly; Congenital uterine malformation; Uterine septum; Vaginal agenesis.
