Abstract

RAMIREZ, Marta Gil  and  ROJAS, Ruth Gómez de Travesedo. Management of Spanish politics on YouTube: A pending issue. OBS* [online]. 2020, vol.14, n.1, pp.22-44. ISSN 1646-5954.  https://doi.org/10.15847/obsOBS14120201491.

The digital media ecosystem has reconfigured the way in which the political landscape interact with civil society, opening new ways of interaction between both. This research studies, through quantitative and descriptive content analysis, the management of videos published on YouTube from the Spanish politics. The results show important deficiencies in the political sphere in terms of content control and the treatment of the image projected on the platform, highlighting an incipient and inefficient use of the digital channel as a potential media for interaction and democratic dialogue with the citizens.
