Abstract
LOPES, José Almeida; BRANDAO, Daniel; FIGUEIREDO, Alexandre and MANSILHA, Armando. Aneurysmal disease and hybrid treatment: case report. Angiol Cir Vasc [online]. 2012, vol.8, n.4, pp.195-201. ISSN 1646-706X.
The authors present a case report of a 63 years-old male patient, with two popliteal aneurysms, both treated by the classical surgical approach, one of which was thrombosed (short distances claudication) and subsequently by endovascular means an isolated iliac artery aneurysm, by placing a covered stent-graft. This case demonstrates the different possible approaches (endovascular and classical) to treat the same pathological entity, in different location and circumstances, in the same patient. A literature review of the disease in question was performed and discussion is raised about what is the best surgical treatment for each location.
Keywords : Popliteal Artery Aneurysm; Isolated Common Iliac Artery Aneurysm; Hybrid Treatment.
