Abstract

LOUREIRO, Luis; CASTRO, João  and  ALMEIDA, Rui. Small Saphenous Vein: The limb’s small savior. Angiol Cir Vasc [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.1, pp.63-65.  Epub Mar 31, 2021. ISSN 1646-706X.

Peripheral bypass grafting with autologous vein is the gold standard treatment of peripheral artery disease.

In cases when the great saphenous vein is not available the arm veins or small saphenous veins are possible alternatives.

The use of small saphenous vein as a bypass conduit is not a spread practice.

We present two cases of revascularization procedures using the small saphenous vein as a conduit and a literature review on the theme.

Keywords : Small saphenous vein; Bypass; Peripheral arterial disease.
