Abstract

This article describes the application of the Electronic European Language Portfolio (e-ELP) in the Official Language School of Alicante. The study was conducted during a semester in two groups of students studying German (level B1.1), based on the correlation between its use and language and strategic learning. Similarly, its suitability for the formative and summative evaluation was analyzed. Through a pretest, a test and a posttest, quantitative data on results in the four language skills were collected, while students completed a questionnaire to collect qualitative data on its use for language learning. Research has shown that e-ELP has positively affected the acquisition of language skills and strategies. However, the slight improvement could be higher if a technological implementation of this tool were made.
