Abstract

MORESI, Eduardo Amadeu Dutra et al. Social Technology: the donation from the perspective of application Solidarius. RISTI [online]. 2017, n.23, pp.1-16. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.23.1–16.

Mobile devices and their applications have brought about significant changes in society in general. Social applications are categorized as tools of social technology and come with an alternative purpose to technological development focused on the individual production, consumption, surveillance and management. This article analyzes the motivations of using a social application to make donations to needy families. It addresses the Solidarius application that was created to make donations to the social assistance group Sociedade São Vicente de Paula - Vincentinos. It is concluded that technology-mediated solidarity, despite being anonymous, allows the existence of a bond, which allows the user a sense of belonging to an institution or a cause greater than himself, in addition to generating feelings of satisfaction and gratitude

Keywords : social technology; social application; mobile devices; Solidarius.
