The purpose of higher education is to train students efficiently to meet the needs of today's society; however, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was mandatory to implement a contingency plan so that the teaching-learning process was not affected. In this sense, it was necessary to train teachers in the face of the deficiencies detected in teacher training when changing from the face-to-face modality to the virtual one to face the current educational challenges to carry out their teaching practice successfully. This project aims to break paradigms in the university teaching training of the professors in the Academic Unit of Gastronomy and Nutrition Mazatlán of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa through tutorial videos. The dissemination was through a campaign of expectation and awareness of the importance of this phenomenon, which directly impacts students' academic performance. The data collection is done with a pre and post-test to the teachers and an interview with the students.
