CALSIN, Michael Apaza; AEDO, Marco  and  CASTRO, Eveling. Impact of ChatGPT on Teaching: A Flipped Classroom Approach for Programming Fundamentals. RISTI [online]. 2023, n.52, pp.97-112.  Epub Dec 31, 2023. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.52.97112.

Currently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools have emerged disruptively, affecting fields such as information technology, specifically software development. Tools like ChatGPT, for instance, open new opportunities and challenges in teaching and learning programming concepts. Currently, education relies on conventional pedagogical methods, but we consider adaptation essential because these AI tools have untapped potential. Integrating AI tools into education requires a profound understanding of their capabilities and limitations. In this article, we describe our experience in adopting a flipped classroom approach for teaching basic programming topics to first-year university students.
