This article framed within the area of clinical supervision, aims to identify attributes to the quality of supervision in the clinical teaching of mental health nursing. Is a qualitative study, using the perspective of supervisors. As a tool for collecting data we applied a semi-structured interview, the seven participants who voluntarily joined the study were selected intentionally. The results revealed different categories described in three thematic areas: structure, process and outcome. As part of the structure, were reported the organizational resources, material resources and the participants training. In the process they referred, the importance of partnerships, the qualities of the supervisor, the role of the supervisor and the supervisory processes and their contributions. Finally the result in which is referred the instruments of assessment, the evaluation periods and the instruments to measure human resources. This study intends to be a major contribution to reflect on the attributes required for the quality of supervision.
