Abstract

MOTA, Sandra et al. Construction and validation of an instrument to assess satisfaction and importance given to the nursing services provided in the area of mental health. Revista Portuguesa de Enfermagem de Saúde Mental [online]. 2014, n.spe1, pp.53-58. ISSN 1647-2160.

User satisfaction evaluation is an indicator of the quality and effectiveness of care provided, so it is very important to have valid instruments for the collection of this information. The existence of a few instruments that meet these requirements, we proceed to the construction and validation of an instrument that would allow the evaluation of user satisfaction and the importance they attribute to the care provided in a mental health institution. We evaluated the psychometric properties of the instrument, using Cronbach's α test, Spearman Rho and factor analysis, a sample of 95 users. It was found that the instrument fulfilled the intermediate criteria necessary to be considered a validated tool for users of outpatient nursing care in a mental health institution. It was also found that users are satisfied with the care provided and consider these services important.
