Resumen

BARRANTES, Francisco Javier; VIOLANTE, Carlos; GRACA, Luís  y  AMORIM, Isabel. Fight against Stigma Program: results obtained in the training of Mental Health Professionals. Revista Portuguesa de Enfermagem de Saúde Mental [online]. 2017, n.spe5, pp.19-24. ISSN 1647-2160.  https://doi.org/10.19131/rpesm.0162.

The users of mental health services feel stigmatized by professionals as well. Taking this into account, an intervention program of fight against stigma was started at the São João de Deus-Barcelos Health House. In this article are analysed the results obtained in a workshop/course, which is integrated in this program and directed to the Institution professionals. A comparative study was elaborated, in two moments: In the first, one a situation diagnosis was made and in a second moment it was intended to evaluate the results after intervention. The instrument AQ-27, "The Attribution Questionnaire 27" of Corrigan (2004) was used, in the Portuguese version. Between the two moments no significant differences were observed, with the exception of avoidance. As a conclusion, it is stated that workshops/courses should be integrated in dynamic and interactive processes, not only "information about" but, rather "knowledge of / with who", with greater interactivity between health professionals (employees) and users in the recovery phase.

Palabras clave : Social stigma; mental health; health professionals; continuing education.
