OLIVEIRA LIMA, Thainá  y  TAVARES, Cláudia Mara. The socioemotional skills in nurses' training: A sociopoetic study. Revista Portuguesa de Enfermagem de Saúde Mental [online]. 2020, n.spe7, pp.72-80. ISSN 1647-2160.  https://doi.org/10.19131/rpesm.0250.

BACKGROUND: The study about emotions in nursing care reveals that to work with them is essential for the relationship with the patient. It is a dimension of the practical activities of nurses, so that they can show an affectionate sensitivity and comprehension towards the person, while at the same time dealing with the influence of emotions within themselves. The performance of the development of socioemotional skills in nursery includes actions inscribed into the care process with affectionate-emotional perspectives that seek to positively transform the experiences of the subjects involved, with the intention to promote global well-being. AIM: To identify the content and strategies of the teaching-learning related to socioemotional skills in undergraduate nursing education, verifying its effective presence in academic programs. METHODS: Research of a qualitative approach in the perspective of sociopoetics. For the research group device, 13 students participated, effectively enrolled in the last 2 semesters of nursing school, over 18 years old, both genders. The research performs the qualitative analysis of data according to the transcription, categorization and verification of the results. RESULTS: Orientations regarding emotions in undergraduate education revealed to be inexistent, given that in the program there is no content, credit subject or activity that points to this theme, neither a faculty/academic perspective that considers this approach in a transversal and continuous way. CONCLUSION: This study provided the analysis of the socioemotional dimensions of nursing students, identifying that these dimensions are not developed during undergraduate education, opening, therefore, the possibility of curricular program changes to emerge and make way for new spaces for its discussion in university contexts.
