Abstract

Objective:

To identify the workload of primary health care nurses and its implications for mental health.

Method:

This is a bibliographic review of the integrative review type, based on indexed scientific publications, through the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) and in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (Pubmed), published from 2017 to 2022.

Results:

07 articles were used in the review, which answered the research question. in view of the analyzed studies, it was identified that primary health care nurses have multitasking, whether in care, management or teaching, which causes a work overload, leading them to high levels of stress, anxiety and anguish, which This leads to emotional overload.

Conclusion:

The primary health care nurse has multitasking, which leads to an overload of work, leading to emotional exhaustion with negative effects, which directly interferes with their productivity and the care provided to the patient.
