Abstract

This paper addresses the work of the artist Nancy Holt (1938) and in particular for the entitled Sun Tunnels [solar Tunnels] (1973-1976) in the Bassin Great Desert of Utah. While this can be seen from various positions -as a refuge for the perception of the solstices, as star map, as an instrument of dialogue between the inner and outer universe or as a reflection on the processes we are particularly interested chronologically- we are particularly in the search carried out by the artist in relation to a partnership involving the radical apprehension of the site.
