Adopting as arguments the concept of trace, understood as significant that drags an absence, and the neologism biographema proposed by Roland Barthes to describe the biographical features constructors of ‘a life with empty spaces’, we aim to determine how, in the artist’s books of Pedro Saraiva the book is the artist repeatedly edited in a irreducible and fragmentary significant.
