The geologic materials are the raw material of ceramics and its transformation into ceramic material by heat treatment is analogous to geological phenomena that create igneous rocks. Geology and ceramics has an umbilical relation and contemporary ceramics has reflected this fact in aesthetic terms, as it is the case of the ceramic work of João Carqueijeiro that this work presents.
