Questioning the possibility of a visual record of Saudade within the visual arts, this reflection considers the work of Julião Sarmento as paradigmatic of this inscription. From reference studies and issues about the uniqueness of this sentiment, it's at the intersection of Sarmento's assertions and work that one intends to recognize how this possibility overlaps to the discourse of the artist himself.
