This article approaches the figure of Spanish artist María Ortega through the study of the role played by the tree as an icon in her work. This symbol materializes a life journey full of personal memories but also raises a reflection on human condition. Nearby things and distant things, plant life and constellations, come together to configure the inner landscape of our own existence.
