Abstract

VALENT, María Guillermina. A place for images: The body as a statement in the work Selknam (self / other), a phototoperformance made by Juan Carlos Romero. Estúdio [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.9, pp.70-78. ISSN 1647-6158.

The following article aims to look into the work Selknam (self / other), a photoperformance made by the Argentinian artist Juan Carlos Romero, with particular emphasis on the participation of the body's artist as a device of enunciation. We understand, in this sense, that the plastic production dialogically intertwined concepts such as present-past, presence-absence, biologicalbody-socialbody.

Keywords : body; image; medium; presence; absence.
