Abstract

CARTAXO, Zalinda. As a grain of sand: About one work by Regina de Paula. Estúdio [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.10, pp.97-102. ISSN 1647-6158.

The photographic work "As a grain of sand" by Regina de Paula operates as a starting point for a reflection on God, History and origin. The presence/absence of a Bible alternated nine times on a surface of sand can be read. for example, as the issues of elective affinity that Walter Benjamin uses to define History as an overlapping of time in a succession of "nows". This anti-historicist History referred by the author via enunciation of the category is origin is formalized, in de Paula's work as a devir aesthetics.
