This article analyzes the work of the Aragonese painter Agustin Alegre, whose self-portraits go beyond its appearance. In them, in addition to a deep introspection exercise, he makes constant reference to his profession as a painter, giving relief to the artist and his subject identifying attributes. Moreover, the image of itself is used as a model in compositions on various subjects allowing us to observe a tendency to narcissism.
