Abstract

PALMELA, Ana Sofia Ré de Oliveira. Nuno Gama and the identity that one puts on. Estúdio [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.13, pp.79-86. ISSN 1647-6158.

Nuno Gama is a Portuguese fashion designer, who is known for the portugality of his works. Based on an approach that links clothes to ways of thinking, Gama's creations are analyzed in how they reflect aspects of his three levels of identity: personal, familiar and national. Although identity isn´t something that we can undress, Nuno Gama's clothes seem to suit us well enough to say that identity is also something we put on.

Keywords : fashion; self; levels of identity.
