ASSELMAN, Amine. Zellige and contemporary creation: the mystical vision of Younes Rahmoun. Estúdio [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.17, pp.119-126. ISSN 1647-6158.

Zellige is a material that continues to be present in the works of those artists whom have had some contact with the "andalusi" culture. The spectrum goes from orientalists until the most contemporary ones. The use of this material varies along with the context of each artist. In this article, we will highlight the work of amoroccan artist that was born and raised in Tetouan surrounded by Zellige and whose perspective plans on going beyond the traditional limits of this materials' use, resulting therefore into a fundamental part of our research.

Keywords : Zellige; Islamic art; contemporary creation; geometry; ceramic.
