Abstract

The objective of this text is to present the visual works of the Amazonian artist Hélio Holanda Melo (1926-2001), contextualized in his experience as rubber tappers and political activist in the Amazon Forest, at a time of strong paradigm changes in three management of the forest and its economic vocation. And due to this, the artistic production of HélioMelo presented three distinct phases: Sociology of Work, Social Critic and Concern with the Environment.
