Abstract

CORREIA, Carlos. Beginning is the end is the beginning is the end: Art and Science in the work of Cecilia Costa. Estúdio [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.18, pp.103-113. ISSN 1647-6158.

This article explores the work of Portuguese artist Cecília Costa (Caldas da Rainha, 1971). Through various mediums such as drawing, sculpture, video and installation, her work has focused on the links between art and science, a fact to which his dual academic training in mathematics and fine arts will not be alien. This text will also try to look at the very stimulating and not always peaceful relationship between art and science, demonstrating how Cecilia Costa's proposal is an example to be taken into account.

Keywords : art; science; drawing; sculpture; video.
