Abstract

CUNHA, Eduardo Vieira da. Field and counterfield in 'The House': ruins and fragments of a visual experience in the strategy of absence. Estúdio [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.21, pp.141-148. ISSN 1647-6158.

This article surveys the work of Camila Mello, and his poetry of absence and abandonment in acts of subtraction in the images, creating gaps of estrangement. The text focuses on a work called The House, a film originated from a series of drawings, where the artist seeks a dialogue with Samuel Beckett, and the paradox of Molloy , personage with the same name of the Irish writer's book: the impossibility of expression, and the extreme urgency to say (do) it.

Keywords : Photography; fiction; shadow; impossibility.
