Abstract

TEDESCO, Elaine. Montage and film effect in the photographic narrative 'The God's Ire', by Alfredo Nicolaiewsky. Estúdio [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.22, pp.28-36. ISSN 1647-6158.

This paper presents one appreciation of The God's Ire, by Alfredo Nicolaiewsky. Running from the artist's interviews and dealing with the concepts "film effect", by Philippe Dubois; "miscegenation", by Icleia Cattani; and "dialectical montage and symbolic montage" by Jacques Rancière, we analyze how the montage using photographic juxtaposition, made with the appropriation of movie still's available on the Internet, results in a narrative that compound times and stories, and that offers to the viewer the possibility of mentally reassembly the scenes.

Keywords : Alfredo Nicolaiewsky; movie; montage; narrative; photography.
