Abstract

STRATICO, Fernando A.  and  OLIVEIRA, Ronaldo Alexandre de. Body, performance and colonization in the photographic work of José Juliani. Estúdio [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.22, pp.45-54. ISSN 1647-6158.

This article presents analises of historical images of the processes of colonizalion of de city of Londrina/Paraná/Brazil, designed by the important work o photographer José Juliani. The purpose was to identify de dynamics of performative phenomena which are present in Juliani´s works, and how such images reveal aspects that are little observed by the history of the formation of this city, nowadays a densily populated town. The centre of such photographic construction is the bodily performance which is articulated for specific ideological means. Thus, this research reveals intentions and performative bodies that are guided by the dynamics of capital and extractivism.

Keywords : Photographic performance; colonized body; José Juliani.
