Abstract

CIDADE, Daniela Mendes. The unconscious in Fercho Marquéz: reflections on the nascent state of sculpture. Estúdio [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.23, pp.160-167. ISSN 1647-6158.

This article analyzes the work of the Brazilian artist Fercho Marquéz (1982), more specifically the installations and sculptures where he deals with questions related to the instauration of sculpture, such as containment, mold and resistance. It is intended to make a metaphor of his poetics with political issues: the imposition of subjection, manipulation and symbolic death. The objective is to exalt what escapes, rebels, revolts and insists in this process of contention of the work in doing.

Keywords : Sculpture; restraint; resistance; subjection; politics.
