Abstract

TROCHMANN, Bruno  and  PARAGUAI, Luisa. Improvisation and drone: a methodological reading of David Maranha. Estúdio [online]. 2019, vol.10, n.27, pp.69-76.  Epub Sep 30, 2019. ISSN 1647-6158.

This article articulates the David Maranha's works, "Âncora" (2016) and "Marches of the new world" (2007), with the emotional improvisation of Free black jazz and the incendiary drone of Dream music. Both perspectives are committed to the disruption of Eurocentric traditions of music, and in this sense, the text draws on Flynt (1982) as a theoretical-practical methodological approach, to infer the ways of appropriation of the artist's sound techniques and technologies, as practical principles of the creative process.

Keywords : creative process; experimental music; improvisation; drone..
