LOPES, Almerinda da Silva. João Câmara's metaphorical and paradoxical painting and the unusual game of the visible. Estúdio [online]. 2019, vol.10, n.28, pp.22-29.  Epub 31-Dez-2019. ISSN 1647-6158.

The purpose of this article is to reflect on the recent production of the Pernambuco artist João Câmara (1944), focusing on two digital paintings, called "Comédia Parisiense" (2O17) and "Pedro Sonha" (2018), through which the author refers, paradoxical and burlesque, to two traumatic events in Brazilian political-social history. Although they deal with distant periods and different protagonists, they maintain some similarity among themselves, which made the references known respectively as "The Last Dance of the Cabral" and "Dance of the Fiscal Island."

Palavras-chave : Digital painting; João Câmara; Political and social paradoxes.
