Abstract

MACHO, Oscar Padilla. Paradoxes and displacements: frictions in the objects of Luis Bisbe. Estúdio [online]. 2019, vol.10, n.28, pp.110-116.  Epub Dec 31, 2019. ISSN 1647-6158.

This article explores the relationships created between some of the works that Luis Bisbe (Málaga, 1965) has made during the past years. The Málaga artist living in Barcelona works under heterodox parameters which allow him to provoke frictions through objects that condense paradoxes and displacements. Most of his works are presented under an aspect of everyday life, forced by the artist's need to use objects from our environment, but above all because of Bisbe's need to subvert the hierarchical categories between what is considered art and what is not.

Keywords : Presence; non-representation; installation; everyday objects; contemporary art.
