This article proposes an analysis of part of the production of José Patrício (Recife/ PE - 1960) whose material are domino pieces, putting the modular form and the construction through a system in dialogue with the surprises that may occur once the work is executed. This analysis also aims to look more closely at the repetitive gesture that unfolds in time, in an action that seems to surpass the contours of works and potentially extend to the infinite.
