Abstract

GOMES, Paulo César Ribeiro. The principle of Marinês Busetti's art. Estúdio [online]. 2020, vol.11, n.30, pp.137-144.  Epub June 30, 2020. ISSN 1647-6158.

Marinês Busetti (Farroupilha, RS, 1958), integrates the long tradition of abstract engraving in Rio Grande do Sul. His work, of an optical matrix, prioritizes seeing at the expense of looking. His woodcuts are constructed from simple modules that, after much work, reach complex compositions. Using collage, and even painting, his works maintains the founding principle in engraving, nurtured by constructive principles and maintaining an unequivocal fidelity to the medium.

Keywords : Marinês Busetti; wookcut; engraving; art in Rio Grande do Sul.
