Abstract

ROVIRA, Jordi Morell i. 3D stones: the error of Anna Dot and the copy of Mercè Casanovas. Estúdio [online]. 2020, vol.11, n.31, pp.97-104.  Epub Sep 30, 2020. ISSN 1647-6158.

This paper brings us closer to two Catalan artists: Anna Dot and Mercè Casanovas, who have incorporated 3D printing technology as another tool in their creative processes. It also coincides with the fact that printed stones are the main character in their works: as an error in Dot’s El camí de les pedres (2017), and as a copy in Casanovas’s Repensant Penone (2019). In conclusion, these peculiar stones, more than time, condense data and reveal the conceptual densities of their artistic research.

Keywords : stone; 3D printing; error; copy; Anna Dot; Mercè Casanovas; artistic processes.
