Abstract

POSTIGA, José Luís. Anamorphoses: cyclic projections, generating deformations: sound plasticity in Isabel Soveral’s Anamorphoses V and VII. Estúdio [online]. 2020, vol.11, n.32, pp.88-100.  Epub Dec 31, 2020. ISSN 1647-6158.

The Anamorphoses cycle is one of the most important of Isabel Soveral’s creative activity. In it, the composer manipulates the concept that gives it name, as aprinciple for sound transformation and development. Through different strategies of musical analysis, we seek to unveil how plasticity, as a concept, is imported from the visual domain, by it’s mathematic formulation, to that of the sound organization, focusing on the melodic variations and projections in the works V and VII of the cycle. Thus, it reinforces the importation of concepts from visual arts to the creative process of the composer.

Keywords : Anamorphose; Plasticity; Musical Composition.
