Abstract

PEREIRA, Teresa Matos. Activism, transience and feminism in Karen Dolorez’s work. Estúdio [online]. 2020, vol.11, n.32, pp.139-150.  Epub Dec 31, 2020. ISSN 1647-6158.

This text intends to establish an approach to Brazilian artist Karen Dolorez’s work, considering her creative process as a form of social and ideological positioning. The use of textile techniques such as crochet or a female body imagery assumes a political meaning. Her work, placed in a feminist aesthetic context is expanded to the urban scale or deterritorialized space of digital networks and platforms on the Internet.

Keywords : Feminism; Visual Arts; Street Art; Textile Art.
