This article discusses the project Map of Floating Islands of Ema M (Torres Vedras, 1976), carried out in 2015. This project consists of creating a set of imaginary cartographies in three moments - text, site-specific installation, drawing - representing floating islands, metaphors of the fallibility of rational and scientific means of orientation. The artist's work process is described, focusing mainly on how the artist integrates chance and nature into the work.
