Abstract

ZIELINSKY, Mônica. The creation of Romy Pocztaruk: Transversalities between memory, nostalgia and criticism. Estúdio [online]. 2021, vol.12, n.33, pp.155-167.  Epub Mar 31, 2021. ISSN 1647-6158.

Through her thought-provoking work, South Brazilian artist Romy Pocztaruk (1983) opens meaningful horizons to rethink artistic paths related to cultural history and physical boundaries, fictitious or not. Both perspectives approach the ways erasures are found in different cultures while dealing with memory in art. In two different phenomena, in a moment between the production of these works, they emphatically expose issues of temporality or space categories addressed by the artist in her contemporary art creation.

Keywords : memory in art; art and temporality; art and space; Romy Pocztaruk.
