O texto propõe uma abordagem à obra do artista plástico Alexandre Farto aka Vhils (n.1987). Este é considerado um dos artistas mais significativos e instigantes que desenvolvem parte do seu trabalho na área da street art, mobilizando um conjunto de meios expressivos que possibilitam uma reflexão sobre o meio urbano e estabelecem uma progressiva relação entre a arte, a cidade e a sociedade. Esta relação leva, inevitavelmente, a uma fusão entre a arte e o contexto social. Analisar-se-á um conjunto de intervenções inseridas na sua série de trabalhos intitulada “Scratching the Surface”.

The text suggests an approach to the work of the plastic artist Alexandre Farto aka Vhils (b.1987). He is considered one of the most significant and thought-provoking artists who develop part of their work in the sphere of ​​street art, mobilizing a set of expressive means that allow a reflection on the urban environment and establish a progressive relationship between art, the city and society. This relationship inevitably leads to a fusion between art and the social context. A set of interventions included in the series of his works entitled “Scratching the Surface” will be analyzed.
