This article focuses on the study of the work of the Sevillian artist Julia Llerena in relation to the artistic practice of collecting detritus. The aim of the article focuses on displaying the main ideas that arise around the concept of collection and accumulation of objects through the work of Julia Llerena, revealing the gaze of the artist as an archaeologist of the present. The practice of collecting is a current artistic trend in which there are various references of artists who work in this field worldwide as a result of the discarding of objects, waste and garbage in general that contemporary consumerist societies generate.
