Based on a market survey by the CIGA, and trying to meet the objectives of the project "Rede de Aldeias Vinhateiras", which aims to consolidate and give dynamic to the wine villages network, and also promote heritage, landscape, human and cultural aspects of the region, as an important factor of its tourist offer and generator of a contribution to the development of tourism in the Douro region. The main objective of this project is to create a network of sustainable mobility between the Douro Wine Villages, and using as main indicator the CO2 emissions of the several transport alternatives, through the georeferencing, characterization, in a structured manner, of all aspects of interest, edition and analysis in a GIS platform, to create tours suiting the interests of tourists, boosting lower economic and environmental costs, and thus promote the development and sustainable tourism in the region.
